Catering

I love sharing Ethiopian food with people and one of the ways I often do this is by catering. I have done and enjoy doing a wide variety of events, from very large to very small and anything in between.

One of the large events that I enjoy catering each year, with the help of many volunteers, is the Slum Doctor’s Ethiopian Benefit Dinner. This dinner which raises thousands of dollars for the organization feeds some three hundred attendees. To see more photos of the 2009 dinner seen here, go to the Slum Doctor’s blog post here.

On the smaller end of the spectrum, I have catered dinner parties.  I am very flexible about arrangements and I have even catered dinner for as few as four people, where those I was catering for purchased the ingredients that I request, and then we prepared the food together so they could experience the art of Ethiopian cooking.

Many people like to have dinner catered with the same dishes I serve at the Farmers Market. But I also offer a variety of other possibilites. There are many different vegetarian dishes, including stuffed jalapenos and homemade Ethiopian cottage cheese among others, as well as numerous other meat dishes. I also offer an authentic Ethiopian coffee ceremony or a traditional Ethiopian breakfast as seen here.

I keep my prices very reasonable because I love to share the food of my country with others. So please contact me if you are interested, for more details.

Having the party buy the ingredients and help with the preparation is a great idea for getting everyone involved and showing them a great time.
